Ana runs a lovely workshop! Everything was nicely adapted to even novices in the arts but also more experiences painters/artists will enjoy the challenge of a tile! Since we were not able to pick up the baked tiles in our time in Lisbon, Ana offered to ship the tiles to the Netherlands for a small fee, perfect service!

This was one of the highlights of our trip because we got to take a piece of our Lisbon trip with us. The location is a bit far, but it is easy to get to by bus from downtown Lisbon. Ana was a wonderful teacher and really guided us through the process. One thing I wish I had done was to book this towards the middle of our trip after we had explored the beautiful azulejos in the city so that I had a better idea of designs and colors.

The only tile painting workshop I could find across all travel websites (Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Viator)! Hannah was lovely. We started with brief instructions (took less than 5 minutes, leaving us with plenty of time to paint) and the process was simple and smooth. Art has never been my forte (I got C at school for arts and crafts), but we could follow a pattern of our choice and create a stencil for painting. Hannah was helpful, patient and kind, during the course answering our questions about Portuguese tile painting and explaining other techniques as well. It’s almost Christmas, so the Christmas carols she played created a festive mood (she even offered a complimentary heart-shaped ornament). When we finished our painting, we took a Polaroid picture with our product and paid €30 each to ship to our addresses (UK/Hong Kong). When you book this experience, bear in mind the extra shipping cost (unless you’re in town to pick it up in person). Overall, a 9/10 experience.

Everyone wants a Portuguese tile souvenir when they visit, but don't buy make your own!! Ana was absolutely incredible - the atmosphere was so relaxing, she provides coffee and water if you like (which I never say no to espresso), and pick is simple! Again, such a relaxing experience which for me was perfect as I'd been nonstop in Lisbon and needed the perfect break without feeling guilty I was wasting any time. Book this now, I got it was a birthday present for myself and I'll have it for a lifetime. Thank you Ana!!

Ana was a phenomenal instructor! I loved the experience I had with my family and friends. She was present and welcomed us with open arms. She was friendly, kind, and helpful. Very nice time tile painting with Ana. She is very knowledgeable and patient and kind! We showed up a bit late due to traffic but weren’t pressed for time to finish our tiles. Ana was understanding and even offered to ship the finished tiles to us since we were leaving Portugal before they’d be ready. A very cathartic time and cool to learn about the history of Portuguese tile painting!
