This was such a nice experience. Ana was very friendly and helpful and was always on hand to help if you needed her! Our tiles came out looking really good and we chatted a bit about some other tile techniques used in Portugal. A lovely relaxing experience.

If you have time in Lisbon and want to try something different/calming then this activity is the one for you. However, if you want to take your tile home with you, then I recommend you contact the host before hand to make sure there’s enough time to do this. Otherwise there’s an additional cost for shipping and from what I understand you would have to come back to pick it up on a different day. An Uber ride for us to the studio wasn’t cheap. We weren’t told this up front.

We had a blast making tiles with Ana’s supervision. It was fun and less intimidating than we thought once she walked us through the tile-making process. She glazed and ships our finished work Internationally for a small fee. We would wholeheartedly recommend her workshop to anyone visiting Lisbon.

My partner and I had an outstanding experience attending Ana's tile painting workshop. Ana is a remarkably knowledgeable artist, who enthusiastically imparts various painting techniques to her students. We were taught a simpler technique in this workshop, which was no less stimulating, artistic, and creative. Ana guided us meticulously through each step, assisting with execution and customization. Her attention to detail ensured that our technique was spot on, and that we were mindful of the specific parts of the tiles not to be handled pre-kiln. We felt well taken care of in the hot afternoon, with Ana generously providing water and coffee. One unique aspect of the workshop was the social atmosphere Ana fostered. She encouraged all participants to interact, creating an engaging and friendly environment. The final product of our effort was ready exactly when Ana promised, and it was a true reflection of the artistic journey we embarked on. In summary, this was a wonderful experience, and we eagerly look forward to joining Ana again on our next visit to Lisbon. We couldn't recommend this tile painting workshop highly enough!

Ana was lovely! This experience was very peaceful. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing in a great studio environment. My only surprise was that we would be getting our tiles back a couple days later…I wasn’t aware of this otherwise I would have booked the experience at the beginning of my trip! Since it was the day before we were leaving we had to pay additional fees for shipping. Lovely, meditative experience but you will need to have a few extra days in your stay so you can go back to pick up your tile to take home!

This experience was exactly what we had hoped for. It allowed our family to learn how the beautiful tiles of Portugal are made and we even came away with our own design. Ana made this fun and gave thoughtful guidance to help us have a great time! We are all happy we met Ana and had this experience. We highly recommend you add this to your trip.

Had a good time. Ana was a friendly, helpful host. This experience is focused on the practical aspects of hand decorating a tile - there wasn't a lot of history or storytelling. But if you're interested in the tile making process and would like to have a unique Portuguese souvenir crafted by your own hand, this is a great option!

Painting tiles with Ana was fun! Definitely something you should consider doing while in Lisbon. However, the only thing you should consider is that the tile is not going to be ready for pick up for 1.5 wks after your experience and unless you're local and can physically pick up the tile, if you want your tile, she will ship it to your address but for an additional cost. For us in the USA it was an additional 20 euro.

Awesome experience! Ana is very sweet and provided up with cake and coffee before explaining the tile painting process. She was very knowledgable and helpful throughout the process! She gave suggestions when asked but always reminded us that this was our masterpiece, and we could paint whatever we wanted. We loved it!

An experience well tied to the very typical and yet unique design element of Portugal. Ana's instruction was straight forward, clear and helpful with questions. A very nice keepsake for our 11 day stay in Lisbon now sits on our mantle - a special memory piece!
