I loved this experience because not only is it a much more personal souvenir of Portugal, but the activity itself allows you to slow down and have a deep appreciation for the azueljos! Ana is very sweet, accommodating, clear with her instructions, and passionate about the craft. So very happy that I did this experience!

Ana made our tile painting experience truly wonderful. Her instructions are clear and precise. The stations are set up with everything one might need. She has oodles of templates for tracing or inspiration. Her space is spotless and well lit and airy too. We felt welcomed and comfortable and free to get creative. The tiles are available four days after firing so as we will have moved on, she is shipping them to my friend’s home in the UK for us. Beyond all of this, Ana was exceedingly generous in helping us to resolve a rather silly situation that occurred immediately before we walked in. I had been wearing my prescription sunglasses in the Uber we took to her workshop, so when my glasses case fell out of my pocket I had only dark glasses to see with! Ana helped us to contact the Uber driver and spoke with him in Portuguese, he returned with my glasses and, between them, they saved the day! I’m so grateful for a wonderful tile painting experience but also for the moment of such beautiful community-spirit and generosity that Ana offered.

This was a nice experience, the space we worked on was nice and the host was very organized. The explanations were easy to understand and the company was great. It was quite far from we’re I am staying but that was good for me because I got to know another side of Lisbon.

It was a very special time learning how to paint with Ana. She explained what the process was and guided me through it but giving space for me to explore and experiment. She was caring, offered beverages and cookies and engaged in conversation sometimes checking on my progress. Would definitely go back to learn more and recommend it to anybody wanting to try something new and unique.

Ana is very warm and inviting, and the course is great! You get to paint one tile following the traditional tile-painting process. The studio is far away from Lisbon's city center, but if you don't mind travelling there it's totally worth it! Cute town and lovely little studio.

Ana's workshop is a beautiful space with lots of natural light, great vibes and gentle music. This experience was a peak of my Lisbon adventure. The process of tile painting is quite meditative. We were in a group of 4 and that made it just the right size to work with. Tiles can be shipped to your home country (if you are unable to come to the workshop to pick them up in a few days). I will definitely do this again.

Ana is a brilliant lady who has a real passion for Azulejos. She makes everyone feel welcome and guides you on how to make your tile excellent. The whole experience was very relaxing, with music in the background and drinks and biscuits. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Lisbon- however do it early on in your trip as the tiles take a few days to cook in the kiln! MuIto obrigada Ana!
